How to measure
Measure the neck around its base, where a collar naturally rests; the chest at the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs; and the back length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail for coats and raincoats. Keep the tape snug against the coat, never tight.

Between two sizes, choose the larger one. A little room lets your dog move, sit, and settle well.
A dog can sit in one size by back length and the next by chest - when that happens, follow the chest girth, it is the measurement that decides comfort.

Getting the fit right
Between two sizes, size up. A little room is more comfortable than a snug fit, and every piece has adjustment built in. Two fingers should slide under a closed collar; a harness should sit high on the chest and clear of the shoulder joint; a coat should reach from the base of the neck to the base of the tail without catching at the legs. Puppies and dogs in a heavy winter coat change shape, so re-measure before ordering again.

The item is of very good quality. I have to get used to it, but I take my two dachshunds together and it's great. The waist bag allows you to carry toys, keys, bags, it's very spacious. I've only used it for 2 days but it seems like it's going to be my ultimate leash.
